Pitt State launches new Gus Bus routes in partnership with SEK-CAP

A partnership between Pittsburg State University and the Southeast Kansas Community Action Program (SEK-CAP) is providing a convenient transportation option between campus and downtown Pittsburg.

While the Gus Bus has been in operation for years, additions were necessary to accommodate the first-ever downtown academic building, the Kelce College of Business. Two buses will now operate concurrently to ensure students, faculty, and staff have easy and quick access to the entire campus.

The free Gus Bus service operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., running a continuous loop designed to get riders to destinations across campus in 20 minutes or less.

The route includes stops at:

1. 1. Legacy 1903/Kelce College of Business (drive-through on the southeast corner of 4th and Broadway)

1. 2. Tyler Research Center

1. 3. Student Recreation Center

1. 4. Crossland Technology Center

1. 5. Weede/Plaster Center (Homer Street)

1. 6. Parking lot east of Axe Library

1. 7. Lindburg Plaza

1. 8. Cleveland Plaza cul-de-sac (west side by Overman Student Center)

Riders can track bus locations in real time through the Pitt State app.

The enhanced service is part of a collaborative effort to improve mobility and strengthen connections between campus and downtown.
