MONT ALTO, Pa. - On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, members of the U.S. military will be honored in a ceremony at Penn State Mont Alto.
At 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, the community is invited to attend the ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Flagpole in front of Conklin Hall. The ceremony will include:
Retired Master Sgt. Steve Grace, United States Air Force, who served as a munitions systems craftsman for 23 years, will be a guest speaker at the ceremony. He joined the West Virginia Air National Guard as an active guardsman in 2000 and retired in 2019 as the munitions element chief for the 167th Airlift Wing having reached the rank of master sergeant. His daughter Katelyn is currently a student at Penn State Mont Alto.
The annual Veterans Day ceremony is a way to honor those who have served our country and are now having a continued positive impact in the Penn State community and beyond, according to Lisa DeGregorio, senior student services assistant at Penn State Mont Alto.
"Our student veterans are essential members of our campus community, and their diverse experiences offer valuable mentoring opportunities for their peers," DeGregorio said. "Hosting a Veterans Day Celebration is one meaningful way to express our gratitude for their contributions to our campus and their selfless service to our country."
