In response to the announced closure of Siena Heights University, Grand Valley will support those displaced students by offering a clear path to degree completion.

Leaders announced June 30 that the 105-year-old university in Adrian will close after the 2025-2026 academic year. About 1,855 students are enrolled at Siena Heights.

GVSU will guarantee admission to all Siena Heights students who are in good academic standing. B Donta Truss, GVSU vice president for Enrollment Development and Educational Outreach, said the university is launching multiple support resources to ensure a seamless transition.

"We understand the uncertainty and disruption this unfortunate situation creates for Siena Heights students," Truss said. "We want to assure them that their educational goals can remain within reach. Grand Valley is ready to help them continue their journey."

Support for Siena Heights transfer students includes:

• Guaranteed admission for all SHU students in good academic standing
• Extended deadline for GVSU transfer merit scholarships through August 22
• Targeted completion scholarship for SHU students who have earned 60 or more credits
• Financial aid opportunities for eligible students
• Robust online and hybrid options through GVSU Omni to maintain continuity for students from SHU who prefer online and hybrid degree completion options
