New Brunswick Police Department Swears In Six New Officers



NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (January 14, 2026) - Mayor Jim Cahill and Police Chief Vincent Sabo, swore in six new police officers at a ceremony in Council Chambers/City Hall on Tuesday, January 13.

The six new officers are:

Randy Jaquez is a 2021 graduate of New Jersey City University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Prior to joining the department, Randy served as a Corrections Officer assigned to Trenton State Prison from 2021 to 2025.

Kevin Rojas is a 2010 graduate of New Brunswick High School and has attended Middlesex and Union College. He served in the US Army, (active duty, Army Reserves and Army National Guard) for 14 years, from 2009 until 2023. Prior to joining the New Brunswick Police Department, Kevin worked as a Patient Tech at RWJUH.

Lilibeth Azcona Mieses is a 2020 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and studied Criminal Justice at Middlesex College. Before joining the department, Lilibeth served our community patrolling the parks as a city Park Ranger. Lilibeth continues the family tradition of public service; her aunt Claribel Azcona-Barber also works for the City and is a Middlesex County Commissioner.

Raymond Perez is a 2015 graduate of New Brunswick High School and also studied Criminal Justice at Middlesex College. Raymond is an active member of the US Army National Guard, and prior to joining the police department, he was a security guard at the New Brunswick High School.

Kevin Marte is a 2011 graduate of the New Brunswick Health Sciences and Technology High School and has studied at Kean University. Kevin comes to the New Brunswick Police Department after serving one year with the Perth Amboy Police Department as a patrol officer. He extends the family tradition in New Brunswick law enforcement; his cousin Joseph Pena is also an officer in the department.

Joseph Naddeo is a 2011 graduate of Monroe Township High School and has attended classes at Middlesex and Brookdale Community College, where he received an Associate Degree in the Arts and Humanities. Prior to joining the police department, Joseph worked for Amazon and Fortis Security.
