Lainey Wilson inducts Jelly Roll Into the Grand Ole Opry family
Three-time Grammy winner and BMG/BBR recording artist Jelly Roll is the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.
On Tuesday, March 10, Jelly Roll was inducted into the organization by fellow Opry member, friend and BMG artist Lainey Wilson.
Throughout the momentous night, Jelly Roll performed six of his greatest hits: "Liar," "Need A Favor," "I Am Not Okay," "Hard Fought Hallelujah," "Son Of A Sinner" as a duet with ERNEST, and "Save Me" with Lainey Wilson.
Jelly Roll's mentors, Sheriff Daron Hall and Davidson County Juvenile Correctional Professional Yolanda Hockett, were both in attendance at the induction ceremony, along with members from the Judge Dinkins Educational Center, whom Jelly Roll works with to support and empower underserved youth.
Jelly Roll said in his speech, "To take a convicted felon from Music City who found country music because [he's] from Nashville, and you take that kid who's been in the local juvenile and local county jail, and you bring him here and give him Grammys, awards, and platinum plaques, and then you make him a member of the most prestigious group of the Grand Ole Opry. Every word of that sounded like I'm telling you a lot about myself, but that is a story only God could be the author of."
Lainey Wilson said, "There are some people in this business who are great singers, some people who are great songwriters and storytellers, and every once in a while, somebody comes along who is something even bigger than that. They are a voice for people who feel like they don't have one. And that's exactly who Jelly Roll is."

Ahead of the Opry festivities, Jelly Roll reunited with several former collaborators to celebrate three of his eight consecutive career No. 1s. Hosted by BMI and ASCAP, he gathered with the producer, songwriters and publishers from his hit tunes, "Liar," "Heart of Stone," and "Halfway to Hell."
Jelly Roll is set to play these anthems and more on his The Little ASS Shed Tour kicking off in May.
