Sen. Rick Scott Reintroduces Bills to Make Washington Work for Florida Families

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Senator Rick Scott introduced several bills as part of his Make Washington Work plan that will end the tired, dysfunctional status quo in Washington and make sure the U.S. government is working in the best interests of American families. This includes the No Budget, No Pay Act; the Let's Get to Work Act; a bill repealing automatic pay raises for Members of Congress; and a constitutional amendment to provide the president line-item veto power, establish term limits for Members of Congress, and require a supermajority to raise taxes or fees on the American people.

Senator Rick Scott said, "I've made a promise to Florida families that I'll do everything I can to make Washington work for them - that starts with reforming the tired, dysfunctional ways of Washington and making sure our government is always working in Americans' best interests. Right now, Washington's dysfunction is at an all-time high after four years of the Biden-Harris administration, and it's time to make a change. I'm excited to reintroduce key elements of my Make Washington Work plan to hold Congress accountable and work better for American families. These proposals are common sense: if Congress doesn't do its job, it shouldn't get paid and those who receive welfare and are able to work should do so and contribute to our nation's economy. With President Trump back in the White House, we have a real opportunity to bring much-needed change to the federal government by getting these bills across the finish line and Making Washington Work for the American people."
