TRAFFIC ALERT - Sussex County - Chief Road Closure
Chief Road Closure
Long Neck - ; The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that Chief Road will be closed at the intersection of Norwood Lane, between Oak Orchard Road and River Road, for utility work starting Monday, July 28 at 7:00am through Thursday, July 31 at 6:00pm, weather permitting.
This closure is necessary to allow crews to perform underground utility work, including the installation of new pipe connections, a manhole, and isolation valves. Restoration work will follow and include paving and striping.
Detour: Southbound traffic on Old Orchard Road (SR 5) will continue south on Chiefs Road, turn right onto River Road, with the detour ending at Chiefs Road.
Eastbound traffic on River Road will continue east on Chiefs Road, with the detour ending at Old Orchard Road (SR 5).
