A message from the Office of the Chief of Police:

I want to thank all of the officers and detectives involved in this investigation for their tireless work and long hours in bringing this case to a resolution. Without any help from the community, our investigators used every tool available to identify and locate the suspect responsible for the shooting early Sunday morning. They understood the seriousness of this case, committed themselves fully, and were determined to bring this violent offender into custody. I am proud of the professionalism and determination they displayed in seeing this through. To those who interfered with my officers while they were trying to save a man's life, this is not over. Along with the arrest of the shooter and all the other arrests already made, we are continuing to collect every piece of evidence. You may have gotten away that night, but we will find you. Anyone identified as having fought with officers, obstructed them, or otherwise tried to stop them from doing their duty that night will be found and arrested. We will not stop until every one of them is brought into custody.

- Chief Eric Echevarria.
