Congressman Jake Ellzey Statement on Completion of FY26 Appropriation Process

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Jake Ellzey issued the following statement after the House of Representatives completed work on all twelve Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations bills:

"Completing the appropriations process through regular order is an important responsibility of Congress, and I am encouraged to see the House fulfill that duty this year," said Ellzey. "Passing all twelve appropriations bills reflects a commitment to transparency, accountability, and a legislative process that allows Members to fully participate in shaping federal spending."

"For too long, Congress has relied on continuing resolutions and last-minute packages that weaken oversight and reduce public confidence. Returning to a committee-driven process strengthens the institution and improves outcomes for the American people."

"These bills provide full-year funding for the federal government while incorporating reforms to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly. They also include critical investments in national security and reflect the seriousness of the challenges facing our country."

"Just as important, passing these bills through regular order, exactly as we did, gives the Senate the best opportunity to consider and advance legislation that can meet the 60-vote threshold and become law, rather than defaulting once again to short-term fixes."
