NEWS: Casar Statement On Luis Fernando Cabrera
AUSTIN, TEXAS - Following news that Luis Fernando Cabrera, the 18-year old student who has been held by ICE ahead of his high school graduation, is set to be released, Congressman Greg Casar said:
"This is a good day for Austin. Luis Fernando Cabrera belongs on the graduation stage, not in a detention facility. Luis' release is proof that all of us speaking out for the rights of our neighbors matters. Keep speaking up and fighting back."
Casar demanded Cabera's release shortly after his detention and visited him at the Karnes detention facility earlier this week.
