No war loan of any kind can go to Ukraine until oil deliveries to Hungary are resumed, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated on Facebook on Sunday after the meeting of the Energy Security Council.

Mr Orbán also stressed that there was no threat to Hungary's energy security; the country's ongoing, normal operation is guaranteed.

The Prime Minister wrote in conjunction with the video: 'We're not watching the shutting down of the Druzhba crude oil pipeline idly. We are guaranteeing Hungary's fuel supply and are taking appropriate counter-measures until the Ukrainians resume deliveries.'

In the video, Mr Orbán said Ukraine is preventing cheap Russian crude oil from coming to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline, and with this they are posing an energy security risk to Hungary. "We have warded off this threat, we have adopted the appropriate decisions, and so today, there is no supply security threat in Hungary, the country's ongoing, normal operation is guaranteed," he said.

At the same time, they also decided on counter-measures; they will not resume diesel supplies from Hungary to Ukraine until we receive oil deliveries from Ukraine.

They have further decided that regarding power supply - where Ukraine is dependent on Hungary - Hungary will proceed with caution, given that there are Hungarians living on the other side of the border as well, and "our enemy is not the Ukrainian people, but bad Ukrainian policy."

The Prime Minister said they have also decided that they will stop the war loan on which a decision was adopted earlier on Brussels, but which has not yet been disbursed, given that its disbursement is subject to Hungary's approval, consent. No war loan of any kind can go to Ukraine until oil deliveries to Hungary are resumed.

A decision has also been taken that until deliveries resume on the Druzhba crude oil pipeline, Hungary will not support any sanctions policy; consequently, we will also reject the 20^th sanctions package presented for decision-making.

"Once oil deliveries resume, normal operations will also resume," Mr Orbán said.
