Sen. Rick Scott Slams Biden’s Move to Remove Cuba from State Sponsor of Terrorism List

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Senator Rick Scott released the below statement on President Joe Biden's decision to remove Cuba from the state sponsor of terrorism list.

Senator Rick Scott said, "Joe Biden's shameful legacy of appeasement has been cemented. By removing Cuba from the State Sponsor of Terrorism list, Biden is weakly playing into the hands of an evil, illegitimate dictator who's using innocent lives as a bargaining chip. THIS IS RECKLESS AND DANGEROUS. The Communist Cuban regime rightly belongs on the State Sponsor of Terrorism list - based on ALL CRITERIA for the list. Cuba has played a significant role in exploiting the United States and creating instability in Latin America. Cuba harbors terrorists, provides a secret police force to Maduro to oppress the Venezuelan people and deny them their freedom, and hosts a Chinese Communist Party spy station 90 miles from Florida. THAT HAS NOT CHANGED. Biden cannot point to one counter-terrorism effort Cuba has made to be eligible for removal off this list. Biden's move endangers Americans, our Hemisphere and harms the Cuban people's fight for freedom and democracy. I'll be working with Trump on DAY ONE to hold the Communist Cuban regime accountable and free the Cuban people."
