Fresh-cut, live Christmas trees will be accepted curbside from Friday, January 2 until Friday, January 16. Trees should be clean with no ornaments, tinsel, lights, price tags, stands or plastic bags. PLEASE DO NOT BAG THE TREES. Tree branches that are no larger than two (2) inches in diameter and no longer than four (4) feet in length may be loosely placed in customer garbage containers or bundled with pre-paid stickers for pick-up on their regular garbage day.
During January, trees may be disposed of at the Citizen's Convenience Center (CCC), located at 5800 28th Street, free of charge. Trees should be clean with no ornaments, tinsel, lights, price tags, stands, or plastic bags. PLEASE DO NOT BAG THE TREES.
Additionally, trees may be taken to the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center and dropped off in the lower parking lot from Friday, December 26 through Sunday, January 18. Trees should be clean with no ornaments, tinsel, lights, price tags, stands, or plastic bags and placed in the lower parking lot. Wreaths will not be accepted. Trees will be chipped and used on trails within the park. The Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center is located at 4500 Sioux River Road (Highway 12). In addition, cardboard, wrapping paper, and rigid plastics from the holiday season are recyclable and may be placed in your curbside recycle bin. Christmas lights, ribbons, bows, and flexible plastic films are NOT eligible for recycling.
