MANTEO, N.C. - Cape Hatteras National Seashore will reopen the Frisco and Cape Point campgrounds at 4 p.m. on Oct. 29, coinciding with Dare County's lifting of the visitor evacuation for Hatteras Island and the reopening of N.C. Highway 12 near the Pea Island Visitor Center.

Most off-road vehicle ramps have reopened. For beach access information, visit go.nps.gov/beachaccess.

The Seashore encourages visitors to use caution on Rodanthe beaches. Several oceanfront structures remain threatened, and debris associated with the recent storm period may be present on the beach and in nearshore waters. Visitors should stay alert, avoid debris and maintain a safe distance from threatened structures.
