GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. On the last Sunday in September, Marines pause
to honor the mothers and families of our fallen. Gold Star Mother's
and Family's Day is a solemn reminder that the cost of service is
carried not only by those who wear the uniform, but also by the
families who stand beside them.
2. On 27 September 2026, we remember every Marine whose life was
given in service to our Nation and every family that continues
to carry that legacy. Their sacrifice is woven into the history
of our Corps, and their strength is a lasting example of courage,
devotion, and love.
3. Remembrance requires more than words. It summons us to remain
present, to reach out, and to ensure Gold Star families know they
will always be part of the Marine Corps family. We honor the fallen
by speaking their names, preserving their stories, and standing with
those who loved them most.
4. To our Gold Star mothers and families: your Marine will never
be forgotten. Your place in our Corps is permanent, your
sacrifice is honored, and our commitment to you endures. We remain
bound by a promise of remembrance, respect, and enduring fellowship.
