Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) received a statewide award for the university's communications strategies in support of the LeMieux Center for Public Policy.
PBA earned a 2025 Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Radiance Award (under the Public Service category) for its public relations and digital communications efforts in the 2023-2024 academic year. The goal was to drive over 700 guests to campus and engage audience members beyond the LeMieux lectures.
Efforts included distributing The Quill newsletter, email marketing, generating local press coverage about the LeMieux Center speakers and other events hosted by the center.
"This prestigious communications award reflects our commitment to elevating free speech and civil dialogue around relevant topics-something that's critical for any higher education institution," said Dr. Debra A. Schwinn, PBA president. "We are grateful to PRSA for recognizing our work to showcase the important issues confronting Florida, the United States, and the world."
The recipients were announced in July at the PRSA Sunshine District Conference2025 Radiance Awards in Jacksonville. This statewide award recognizes the highest levels of professional achievement and showcases public relations campaigns and tactics that demonstrate excellence in research, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
PRSA is the leading professional organization serving the communications community through a network of over 400 professional and student chapters in the United States, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Puerto Rico. The organization offers professional development programs, exclusive networking events, and leadership opportunities.
The PBA LeMieux Center for Public Policy was founded in 2012 by former Senator George LeMieux, who served as Florida's 34th United States Senator in the 111th Congress. The center has hosted dozens of political leaders, authors, and policy experts who share insights on domestic and global policy issues.
