Traffic Advisory: NCAA Women's Final Four Weekend News Convention Center, News Parking, News Parks and Recreation, News Tampa Police, News Transportation Advisories and Road[...]

Don't commit an unnecessary foul, we've got all the traffic info you'll need to drive and score during the NCAA Women's Final Four weekend. This is the fourth time the City of Tampa has hosted the event and it is expected to draw around 30,000 fans per day!

Amalie Arena¶

• The first Women's Final Four games tip off at 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM on Friday, April 4th.
• The Super Saturday Practice is scheduled for Noon on Saturday, April 5th.
• The NCAA Women's Final Four National Championship game tips off at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 6th.
  

Large amounts of traffic and pedestrians should be expected in and around the event zone, along with numerous Tampa Police personnel.

Tampa Convention Center¶

• The Tampa Convention Center will host multiple events, including the free Tourney Town festival throughout the weekend. To access the interior of TCC, you will need to be screened.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic around the Convention Center will likely be higher than usual throughout Final Four weekend.

Additional TCC Events:¶

• The Women's Basketball Coaches Association Convention will be held at TCC on Thursday, April 3rd. Upwards of 7,000 coaches across the country are scheduled to attend. It runs through April 6th.
• During that same period, on Friday, April 4th, about 1,500 elementary school kids from across the U.S. will be attending the Read to the Final Four event at the Convention Center.
  

Curtis Hixon Park¶

• Curtis Hixon Park will be the site of the Super Saturday Concert on Saturday, April 5th. The event is free but requires a ticket and pre-registration. Gates open at 6:00 PM with headliner GloRilla scheduled to perform at 8:00 PM.

This event will be heavily attended and will likely lead to traffic slowdowns around the park.

• Curtis Hixon will also be the starting point for Bounce, which includes about 3,000 kids dribbling basketballs down the Riverwalk. The event starts at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 5th.

ADA Accessibility¶

• For Tourney Town at TCC, guests with disabilities may be dropped in the circle drive located directly off Franklin Street just south of Channelside Drive.
• Guests with disabilities attending Super Saturday Concert will be able to pick up and drop off directly in front of Curtis Hixon Park on Ashley Drive in the designated ADA lane.
• For guests with disabilities attending the games at Amalie Arena, there is an accessible drop off area located off Channelside Drive in the drop-off circle and is adjacent to the Accessible Entrance.

Travel Tips:¶

• Plan for significant traffic congestion in these areas.
• Expect large numbers of pedestrians, police personnel, and security screenings.
• Consider using alternate transportation like the FREE TECO Line Streetcar, Dash service, HART buses (Rt. 1 is FREE), rentable scooters, carpooling, and/or adjusting your travel times to avoid delays.
