SUCCESS FOR ARIANE 6 VA265 FLIGHT: SENTINEL-1D IN ORBIT

Colleferro (Rome), 05 November 2025 - Ariane 6 has successfully placed the Earth observation satellite Sentinel-1D into orbit. The spacecraft is equipped with a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and is part of the European Commission's Copernicus program.

The launcher was fitted with two P120C solid rocket boosters, developed by Europropulsion, a joint venture between Avio and ArianeGroup. The boosters performed flawlessly during their approximately 130 seconds of burn time. Avio is also responsible for producing the liquid oxygen turbopump for the Vulcain 2.1 engine that powers the rocket's core stage.

Giulio Ranzo, CEO of Avio, commented: "We congratulate Arianespace on the success of this mission, which placed Sentinel-1D into orbit - a key step for Europe's strategic autonomy in space. The satellite will now operate alongside Sentinel-1C, launched by Vega-C."
