Media Alert: Portfolio Committee on Mineral and Petroleum Resources to Receive Update from Natjoints on Measures to Combat Illegal Mining
Parliament, Monday, 23 February 2026 - The Portfolio Committee on Mineral and Petroleum Resources will tomorrow, Tuesday, 24 February 2026, receive a briefing from the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure (NATJOINTS) on progress made in implementing the 6th Parliament's recommendations to address illegal mining.
The committee will also be updated on current interventions and coordinated measures being implemented to curb ongoing incidents of illegal mining across the country. The meeting will be conducted on a virtual platform.
