Highway 24/Peterson Road Interchange Project lane closure starts this week

The U.S. Highway 24 and Peterson Road Interchange Project will close the southbound right lane only on Peterson Road, south of Highway 24, later this week. The closure is expected to last several weeks, weather dependent.

The other southbound lanes will remain open for access to Peterson Space Force Base north gate. That access is indicated on the map with the green lanes.

The US Highway 24 and Peterson Project reconstructs the interchange to provide a safer, more secure, and more efficient transition to the Peterson Space Force Base North Gate. The project will support base access control in day-to-day and emergency operations and account for increased traffic capacity on the adjacent roadways associated with planned growth in the Pikes Peak region. The project considers complete transportation options within the adjacent corridors to include bus and bicycle lanes, sidewalks, and trails.
