Newport, OR - Oregon Coast Bank (OCB) is pleased to announce the promotion of Stacy Ramos to Assistant Vice President. Ramos continues to serve as Commercial and Consumer Loan Officer for Tillamook County, with the new title recognizing a steady record of support for the bank's mission, a strong work ethic, and positive leadership among peers.
Ramos joined OCB in January 2018 as a member of the customer service team at the Pacific City branch and soon took on a Vault Teller position, maintaining vault records while continuing to serve customers. When the pandemic closed lobbies and required distance between employees, the team looked for ways to work beyond teller row. Ramos began helping the Lending Department process the flood of PPP loans that kept local businesses covering payroll and operating expenses. "This is when I caught the lending bug," Ramos said.
That interest became a career path. In January 2021, Ramos moved to the Real Estate Lending Department as a loan assistant which helped her gather deeper experience in financial strategy and lending services. A promotion to Branch Manager of the Tillamook branch followed in October 2023. When OCB recognized the need for a full-time commercial lender in Tillamook County, Ramos stepped into the role in April 2024, returning to the Pacific City office and traveling to Tillamook weekly to meet with clients in person.
For Ramos, the work is a good match for her problem-solving strengths. "Every borrower is unique and every loan is different," Ramos said. "That allows me to think of creative solutions to complicated financing obstacles. It's a challenge I enjoy very much. In some small way, I'm helping our communities grow and helping dreams come true." Even when a loan can't be made, Ramos sees an opportunity to build trust by being transparent and honest, and by offering applicants a path to strengthen their position for the future.
That approach reflects how Ramos describes the bank itself. "Oregon Coast Bank is true hometown banking. We bank with our neighbors, friends, and family here," Ramos said. "It's a first-name-basis situation. We know our customers and interact with most of them regularly." OCB takes deposits only from its coastal communities and lends within that same geography, making its decisions in-house with a working knowledge of local industries.
Ramos is quick to credit the people behind the work, describing a deep appreciation for the communities OCB serves, the colleagues across the bank, and, especially, the Pacific City branch family.
Oregon Coast Bank is the only bank built by and for people on the coast. It was founded when 115 coastal families pooled their resources to establish a locally owned and operated bank; its assets now exceed $400 million. For decades, OCB has been dedicated to keeping dollars local and helping coastal businesses thrive.
