WASHINGTON, D.C. - The mid-term election results are in: Voters want Washington to come together to pass durable, nonpartisan solutions to the crises facing wildlife and people. The National Wildlife Federation pledged to work with the incoming House and Senate leadership, new and returning representatives and senators, and the new committee chairs and ranking members to advance durable conservation solutions that address the interrelated wildlife, climate, and environmental challenges facing our nation.
"Voters across generations, geographies, ideologies, and different backgrounds demonstrated that they want a responsive government that will address their concerns, including the immense and interconnected challenges facing wildlife and people," said Collin O'Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. "From every corner of the country, voters across party lines spoke clearly on conservation and climate by voting for pro-conservation ballot measures and electing pro-conservation candidates. We will work to ensure their votes turn into tangible conservation progress."
