The Healthgrades 2027 Star Report of hospital achievements shows TidalHealth is again rated among the nation's best health systems in several clinical services.

TidalHealth announced today that it has earned numerous accolades for clinical excellence from Healthgrades, the #1 site Americans use to find a doctor or hospital.

TidalHealth Peninsula Regional is again One of America's 50 Best Hospitals for Vascular Surgery. This is the thirteenth consecutive year earning that recognition (2015-2027). The vascular team also maintained the Healthgrades Vascular Surgery Excellence Award for a thirteenth consecutive year (2015-2027), placing it again among the Top 5% in the Nation for Vascular Surgery (2025-2027).

The Salisbury hospital also holds several Five-Star Ratings for clinical excellence. For the seventeenth consecutive year, the hospital has received a Five-Star Rating for Carotid Procedures (2011-2027). For the third year, the hospital received a Five-Star Rating for Outpatient Total Knee Replacement (2025-2027), and maintained its Five-Star Rating for outstanding performance in the treatment of Coronary Interventional Procedures for a second year (2026-2027). New this year, the hospital received Five-Star Ratings for outstanding performance in the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and heart attacks.

TidalHealth Peninsula Regional also received the following recognitions:

• Coronary Intervention Excellence Award, which places TidalHealth Peninsula Regional among the Top 10% in the Nation for coronary interventional procedures. (2026-2027)
• Outpatient Joint Replacement Excellence Award, which puts the Salisbury hospital Top 15% in the Nation for outpatient joint replacement procedures. (2026-2027)

In Berlin, TidalHealth Atlantic received a Five-Star Rating for outstanding performance in the treatment of Gallbladder Removal Surgery.

Unlike rankings based on surveys or reputation, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance strictly on objective clinical outcomes-risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates-across more than 30 common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide.

Healthgrades' 2027 analysis revealed that if all hospitals performed at the level of five-star rated facilities during the 2023-2025 study period, 227,229 lives could have been saved and 158,138 complications could have been avoided.*
