ABU Technical Committee Day 2 highlights: resilience and leadership elections

The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Technical Committee successfully concluded the second day of its 2025 meeting hosted by Mongolia National Broadcaster (MNB), which featured meeting discussions on crisis resilience and elections for new committee leadership.

The meeting featured a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Veysel Binbay which explored"Future of Linear Channels - Will There Be Any?" with ABU Members from NRTA-China, RTHK-Hong Kong, IRIB-Iran, TRT-Türkiye and MNB- Mongolia examined the evolving landscape of traditional broadcasting in an increasingly digital environment.

Dr. Mohieddin Moradi of IRIB-Iran delivered a presentation on "Enhancing the Resilience of TV Broadcasting Networks in Crisis Events," drawing from real-world experiences including the recent strike on IRIB facilities. His presentation outlined critical security, physical, and operational challenges facing broadcasters during crisis situations, including personnel safety risks, facility destruction threats, power outages, and communication breakdowns.
