The Community Environmental Council (CEC) and Southern California Edison (SCE) are seeking community input on power outages and climate-related impacts across the Central Coast.
SCE is strengthening the electric grid to reduce climate-related outages and planning for long-term resilience in partnership with local governments. Improvements include undergrounding power lines, installing covered conductors to reduce wildfire risk, adding circuit ties for faster power restoration, upgrading aging equipment during high-demand periods and heat waves, and protecting critical infrastructure in areas vulnerable to flooding or sea level rise.
Your feedback will help inform local and regional planning efforts. Community members are invited to share how power outages have affected their households and how prepared they feel for climate-related hazards.
