On June 3, Ambassador Liu Yantao attended and addressed the International Conference "The International System in a Fast-changing World: Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind". The conference was also attended, both online and offline, by more than 50 representatives from governments, political parties, think tanks, universities, and media organizations from countries including China, Cyprus, the United States, France, Belgium, Greece, Portugal and Egypt.

Ambassador Liu pointed out that in the face of unilateralism and bullying acts, the international community must uphold true multilateralism, advocating fairness and justice, openness and inclusiveness, as well as unity and cooperation. True multilateralism is a shared commitment between China, the EU, and Cyprus. As a staunch pillar of true multilateralism, China is ready to work with other countries to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Participants noted that as the world undergoes rapid transformation, the multilateral system is under pressure. To uphold true multilateralism, it is imperative to resolutely reject unilateralism and all forms of disguised multilateralism. Amid global changes, lasting peace and shared prosperity could only be achieved by supporting dialogue and cooperation, and promoting common values of humanity.
