New Hampshire Cold Case Unit Renews Call for Public’s Help in Unsolved Murder of Wolfeboro Mother; New Family Photo Released

Concord, NH - Attorney General John M. Formella and the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit issue a renewed call for information today in the unsolved 2009 murder of Stacey Burns, a beloved mother of five from Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Sixteen years after her brutal killing, investigators and family members are once again appealing to the public in hopes of finally achieving justice.

"This remains an open homicide investigation. We have not forgotten Stacey, and we will not stop until justice is served-for her, her children, and the community that continues to grieve her loss," said Attorney General Formella. "Even after all these years, one tip could make the difference."

Stacey Burns, a 41-year-old school nurse, was found stabbed to death in her North Main Street home on May 10, 2009-Mother's Day. Two of her children and several of their friends were sleeping nearby at the time. Her 15-year-old son discovered her the next morning. Despite an intensive investigation involving thousands of hours of work and numerous interviews, no arrests have been made.

As part of this renewed plea, Stacey's family has released a never-before-seen photograph - a personal image that portrays her as a devoted mother, sister, and friend. They hope the public will be moved by this private glimpse into her life and will come forward with any information, no matter how small.

"We are disappointed that this marks another year that our mother was tragically taken from us, with no clear progress in her case. We will continue to hope for the justice she deserves," said the Burns Family.

Both her loved ones and law enforcement remain steadfast in their commitment to solving the case.
