Work and Lane Restrictions Planned April 22-May 1, 2026
Starting Wednesday, April 22, and continuing through Friday, May 1, Paradise Road and St. Louis Avenue will be impacted between Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard by a pavement reconstruction project. Traffic generally will be restricted to one through lane for north- and southbound traffic. St. Louis will be closed at Paradise Road for the milling and paving portion of the project. See the map.
Primary work activities include lowering utilities, milling, dense-grade paving, raising utilities and installation of new lane striping. Work activities will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Milling and paving operations will begin Monday, April 27, and will take approximately three days during the duration of the project, subject to weather and equipment availability.
Sahara and Oakey Boulevard are recommended as alternate routes for east- and westbound traffic; Las Vegas Boulevard is recommended for north- and southbound traffic.
Preliminary work was completed, consisting of improvements to the sidewalk areas to meet federal requirements for the Americans with Disabilities Act, including the reconstruction of concrete cross gutter, curb and gutter.
Amrize, Inc. is the contractor. The city of Las Vegas is managing the project. The estimated cost of the work is $500,000, funded by the Regional Transportation Commission Fuel Indexing Tax.
