SBE Council issued the following statement of support for the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee's title of the Senate Republican's "One Big, Beautiful Bill":
"SBE Council applauds the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee for producing a reconciliation title that opens new pathways for small business growth by restoring access to domestic energy production and reducing unnecessary regulatory constraints. In addition, the measure also unlocks unused federal lands for affordable housing, which will help many local communities develop housing plans for local workers who may be locked out of home ownership or a more affordable residence that is nearer to their place of employment."
"For energy producers and the thousands of small contractors and suppliers that support them, the measure removes costly permitting delays, reins in excessive royalty fees, and restores access to quarterly leasing opportunities. It also promotes accountability and needed spending restraint by eliminating programs and rescinding unspent federal funds tied to wasteful initiatives."
"Together, the Committee's reforms will help small businesses stay more competitive by allowing them to make investments with greater confidence. The energy industry relies heavily on these enterprises. For example, 96% of oil and gas extraction companies operate with fewer than 100 employees. Moreover, more domestic production means a more affordable and reliable supply of energy for all consumers, including small businesses."
"SBE Council urges passage and adoption the Committee's title in the One Big, Beautiful Bill to ensure small businesses and their employees are provided the tools and environment needed to thrive in today's competitive marketplace."
