Roadway Conditions and Public Safety
Due to significant flooding throughout Palm Bay, residents are strongly urged to stay off the roadways until an official all-clear is given. Many streets remain flooded and unsafe for travel. Floodwaters may be deeper than they appear, and conditions can change rapidly.
Please remain indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and never attempt to drive or walk through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don't Drown.
City Operations
The City of Palm Bay's non-essential offices and services, including City Hall, will be closed on Tuesday, November 3.
School Closures
Brevard Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, November 3.
Republic Services
Republic Services is continuing to assess flooding conditions throughout Palm Bay following recent heavy rainfall. Residents should be aware of the following collection schedule updates:
Monday Collection Customers: If your regular collection day is Monday, November 2, your next scheduled collection will be Thursday, November 5. Please keep your carts secured until then.
Tuesday Collection Customers: If your regular collection day is Tuesday, November 3, please place your carts curbside only if it is safe to do so and your street is not flooded.
Republic Services will assess roadway conditions early Tuesday morning to determine whether collection routes can safely operate. A delayed start may be necessary due to standing water and limited visibility.
Please do not place carts in flooded areas or enter floodwaters to move them.
We appreciate your patience as Republic Services works to resume collection safely. Additional updates will be shared as information becomes available.
Residents are reminded to remain off the roadways until officials announce that conditions are safe for travel. Continue monitoring official City of Palm Bay communication channels for updates.
