At approximately 10:16 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2026, Iowa City Police were called to the 2700 Block of Wayne Avenue for a report of gunshots in the area.
Responding officers located evidence of a shooting near the intersection of Wayne Avenue and Baker Street. One juvenile was hit by gunfire and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
This incident remains under investigation by the Iowa City Police Department. Anyone with information on this shooting, including video camera footage, is asked to contact Detective Michelle Schultz at [email protected] or 319-356-5275.
