Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan with the Head of UNAMA

On September 22, 2026 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with Ms. Rabab Fatima, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, on the margins of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The discussion focused on regional security and key issues related to the implementation of UNAMA's mandate. The Foreign Minister emphasized Tajikistan's continued commitment to supporting peace and stability in Afghanistan and highlighted the importance of coordinated international efforts to address terrorism, extremism, and cross-border challenges.

Ms. Fatima briefed the Minister on UNAMA's current priorities and future planned engagements. Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to strengthen cooperation and maintain regular dialogue on matters of mutual concern.
