Precautionary Waterway Advisory in Effect
for a Portion of the Intracoastal Waterway
South of East Oakland Park Boulevard Bridge

December 11, 2025 - Effective immediately, the City of Fort Lauderdale is issuing a precautionary advisory to avoid water-related recreational activities in a portion of the Intracoastal Waterway south of the East Oakland Park Blvd bridge as a result of a manhole sanitary sewer overflow. The boundaries of the impacted area are:

  • North: E Oakland Park Blvd
  • South: NE 27th Ave
  • West: NE 30th Ave
  • East: NE 33rd Ave

Swimming, fishing, jet-skiing, paddle-boarding, kayaking, canoeing, or engaging in any other water-related activities should be avoided within the advisory area. Water sampling in the affected area will take place daily. The precautionary advisory will be lifted once satisfactory test results are obtained.
