Montgomery, Ala. - The City of Montgomery is proud to announce Neighbors & Flavors, a free, family-friendly community event designed to foster connection, celebrate culture, and expand access to healthy food options for local families. The event will take place Friday, February 6, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Food for Less parking lot, 4724 Mobile Hwy, Montgomery.
Neighbors & Flavors is a community-driven initiative responding to recent federal cuts impacting families across Montgomery. This event uplifts small businesses, supports minority farmers, and ensures continued access to affordable, healthy food options for residents. The first 50 families to arrive will receive free groceries, thanks to the support of Councilwoman Franetta Riley and local farmer partners.
"Neighbors & Flavors" is more than a pop-up, it's a promise. A promise that in times of uncertainty, Montgomery will stand with its residents, working together to build solutions one neighborhood at a time. This initiative brings healthy food into areas identified as food deserts, supports local small businesses, and creates joyful spaces for neighbors to gather.
Quote from Councilwoman Riley:
"This event is about more than food, it's about community. We're creating a space where families can connect, support local businesses, and know that their city is here for them."
Quote from Tamara N. Williams:
"Neighbors & Flavors is a celebration of resilience and unity. By bringing local farmers, food trucks, and families together, we're not just sharing meals, we're strengthening the fabric of Montgomery's neighborhoods."
