Live Christmas trees can be dropped off at Lewisville Lake Park soccer fields (near Lake Park Road and North Mill Street), between now and Friday, Jan. 9, to be recycled into mulch. Recycling Christmas trees helps reduce waste, extend landfill life, provide useful compost, and save money.
Trees must be stripped of all nails, wire, ornaments, lights, and tinsel prior to being dropped off. Free mulch will be available at the drop-off site between Friday, Dec. 26, and Saturday, Jan. 31, suitable for use in yards, gardens and flower beds, walkways, around trees and shrubs, or for livestock bedding.
The program is sponsored by Keep Lewisville Beautiful (KLB) and Lewisville Parks and Recreation. For information, call KLB at 972.538.5949 or PARD at 972.219.3550.
This program supports the "Sustainability" Big Move in the Lewisville 2025 vision plan. The full plan can be viewed online at cityoflewisville.com/lewisville2025.
