DOORDASH ARRIVES IN THE UK AS DELIVEROO ACQUISITION FORMALLY COMPLETES

London, 2nd October 2025: To Deliveroo's merchant partners, consumers, and riders,

When we started DoorDash in 2013, our mission was simple: grow and empower local economies. We wanted to create a world where every local business-small, medium, and large-could connect with every local consumer. We wanted to enable communities to thrive, with vibrant High Streets and ample opportunities for people to earn. It is a mission that we share with Deliveroo - a focus on serving the local communities where we operate - and is what has driven my admiration for what they've built over the past 13 years.

Today, Deliveroo becomes part of the DoorDash team. Before I share what's ahead, I want to make one thing very clear: the Deliveroo app and products you know and love aren't going anywhere. You'll still be able to order your favourites, run your businesses, or work and earn on the platform as you do today.

What excites me is not changing what works, but building on it together.

For merchant partners, our vision is to help businesses on the High Street not just succeed, but flourish. That means bringing more products and services to help you grow-whether it's new ways to reach customers, better tools to manage your operations, or future innovations that will make it easier to thrive both online and offline.

For consumers, our goal is to deliver more of what you already value: greater selection, higher quality, better affordability, and additional ways to connect with the local merchants you love. Whether you're reordering a local favourite or discovering something new, we'll be working to make the experience even faster, smarter, and more delightful.

For riders, we are committed to protecting the flexibility that makes this work unique. At the same time, we're excited to invest in improvements such as better mapping and new support and protections to make delivering easier, safer, and more secure.

This is the beginning of a new chapter, not the end of an old one. Deliveroo's DNA-its customer obsession and relentless pursuit to improve the experience of consumers, merchants, and riders-remains the same. By combining that with DoorDash's global scale and technology, we have the opportunity to serve more people, in more places, with greater impact.
