Taguhi Ghazaryan meets with representatives of state institutions and civil society of Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova
On May 5, the deputy of the National Assembly, the Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Taguhi Ghazaryan received the delegation of the Eastern Partnership countries being in Armenia within the framework of the EU4Youth programme.
20 representatives of state institutions and civil society of Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova and Armenia participated in the meeting.
The meeting was held in Q&A session. The guests were particularly interested in the reforms and programmes being implemented in the spheres of education and youth policy.
Taguhi Ghazaryan presented in detail the law on Youth Policy adopted in parliament recently and the steps aimed at the youth problems.
As the deputy observed, according to the statistics, the interest and involvement of young people in political and cultural life has increased, as well as their participation in youth programmes. In this context, she noted that Armenia is one of the countries with the youngest parliaments in the world.
During the meeting Taguhi Ghazaryan also touched upon the importance of the activities of the Youth Parliament as an effective mechanism for boosting the political participation of the youth.
A number of issues of bilateral interest were also discussed, including the opportunities for regional cooperation in the youth policy.
