Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus to Host Full-Scale 'Hudson River' Exercise on June 10th

Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus, along with the Orange County Department of Emergency Services, invites members of the media to attend the 2025 Hudson River Emergency Preparedness Exercise, scheduled for Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The exercise will begin at 9:00 a.m. at 22 Wells Farm Road, Goshen.

This full-scale exercise is designed to test Orange County's emergency response capabilities related to Hudson River operations and Family Reunification Center procedures. It also provides a critical opportunity for coordination among County departments, municipal agencies, and regional, state, and federal partners.

"Conducting a full-scale emergency drill is essential to ensuring the safety of our residents and the readiness of our workforce," said Neuhaus, who will also be an integral part of this exercise. "County employees will have the opportunity to train together, test our response systems, and strengthen coordination across departments. Preparation saves lives, and this drill underscores our commitment to being ready for any emergency that may arise."

The media will have the opportunity to participate in the exercise, observe portions of it in real time, speak with officials during designated press conference windows, and capture visuals of interagency coordination in action. A mock Q&A with the County Executive and his commissioners-focused on answering tough questions during crisis situations-may also be included.
