Games, Interactive Media and Mobile Technology student speaks at United Nations event

Audrey Norris, a student in the Department of Games, Interactive Media and Mobile Technology (GIMM) was invited to speak at 10th anniversary of World Youth Skills Day, broadcast live from the Learning Planet Institute in Paris and the United Nations headquarters in New York. Norris is Senior Dev Team Lead of GIMMWorks, the program's nationally recognized experiential learning studio.

Norris spoke about the role of AI in education, where she shared her insights as both a technologist and a youth leader. A former national president of SkillsUSA, Norris continues to serve in leadership roles at both local and national levels, advocating for youth access to cutting-edge training in technology and design.

Through her work with the GIMM Dev Team, Norris is deeply engaged with emerging trends in AI, mixed reality and game development, helping shape real-world applications for education, healthcare and public engagement. Her presentation emphasized the importance of not just teaching AI literacy, but cultivating ethical and creative confidence in students navigating an AI-driven world.
