Berkeleyans in the North Berkeley hills can use PG&E alerts, resource center, and website to get information. City libraries and senior centers with air conditioning are open for those wanting to cool down.
North Berkeley Hills residents whose power has been shut off by PG&E for an expected two days can receive direct alerts from PG&E, look up their outage status, and visit a PG&E resource center to charge devices or use Wi-Fi.
As temperatures are expected to be in the 80s during the agency's Public Safety Power Shutoff - which is expected to last until Friday, October 16 at 4 p.m. - Berkeleyans wanting to escape the heat can visit City sites with air conditioning to cool down.
PG&E has the following resources for the public:

City of Berkeley libraries and senior centers will be open normal hours and can support device charging. If you also need to escape the heat, visit one of these air-conditioned sites:
The Fire Department is unable to charge/power your medical device.
See the PG&E Community Resource Center and City locations above to charge your devices. Do not call 911 because you do not have electricity for your medical device.
If you need emergency transport to a hospital for medical care, call 911.
