PASADENA, Calif.- The City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Department, Senior Commission, and Pasadena Village will host the City's fifth annual Older Americans Month Celebration on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Victory Park, 2575 Paloma St.
This free community event will showcase Pasadena's resources for older adults, featuring giveaways, food, educational presentations, and more than 50 exhibitors. The program will begin with remarks from local public officials. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance to receive additional event details.
"This celebration reinforces the importance of empowering older adults to take an active role in their health and well-being. It connects people with tools, programs, and services that help them thrive at every stage of aging," said Koko Panossian, Director of the PRCS Department.
Observed nationwide each May, Older Americans Month recognizes the contributions of older adults and promotes opportunities for healthy aging. The 2026 theme, Champion Your Health, emphasizes prevention, wellness, and self-advocacy, encouraging older adults to take an active role in their physical and mental well-being.
"Our community is fortunate to have an extensive network of support, from health care and older adult programming to cultural and recreational opportunities," said Katie Brandon, Senior Commissioner and Executive Director of Pasadena Village. "We're looking forward to bringing people together to connect, learn, and celebrate aging in a positive way."
