The final defendant associated with the four-year crime spree that spanned from January 2020 to December 2024 has now been sentenced, ending a yearslong collaboration between the Delaware Department of Justice and the Wilmington Police Department, New Castle County Police Department and the Delaware State Police.
On June 15, Javour Tabron, 30, of Wilmington pled guilty to Illegal Gang Participation, Attempted Murder First Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Conspiracy First Degree and was immediately sentenced to 18 years in prison followed by descending levels of probation.
"From solving a yearslong cold case to securing more than 75 convictions, multiple life sentences and hundreds of years in prison, bringing this cabal of criminals to justice has been a true marathon," said Attorney General Kathy Jennings. "It would not have been possible without the incredible work of our DOJ team and our partners at the Wilmington Police Department, who refused to give up no matter what. While this chapter may be closing for many of us, I must acknowledge the ones for whom this horror will always remain wrenchingly painful- the families and loved ones of the victims. I cannot imagine your loss and can only hope that these sentences will bring you some measure of comfort as you heal. Our hearts are with you."
"This sentence marks the culmination of this gang indictment, and the result of an extensive, long-term investigation and collaboration between police and prosecutors," said Wilmington Police Chief Wilfredo Campos. "This outcome, and the others that preceded it, underscores the hard work that our law enforcement officers and partner agencies do each and every day to hold violent offenders accountable and make our communities safer."
On April 4, 2024, Wilmington police responded to a shooting at 5th and Madison Streets in Wilmington. They located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound a few blocks away. Police located dozens of casings at the intersection. Vehicles and residences were also damaged by gunfire. Daeshawn Shields previously pled guilty to Illegal Gang Participation, Attempted Assault First Degree, two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Conspiracy First Degree for this shooting and was sentenced.
Between January 2020 and December 2024, members of Exit 4 committed crimes including the murder of at least four victims - Carrie Mondell, Latahesia Hill, Khalil Ameer-Bey, and Kwamir Wise - and the attempted murder of several others. All defendants associated with these crimes have now been sentenced.

Philip Harris, two life sentences plus 235 years in prison
Nyair Small, 32 years in prison
