Honouring the public works employees who keep Brampton moving
BRAMPTON, ON (May 12, 2026) - The City of Brampton recognizes May 17 to 23, 2026, as National Public Works Week (NPWW). This year's theme, Rooted in Service, Powered by Community, recognizes the essential role public works professionals play in supporting safe, sustainable and connected communities.

To mark NPWW 2026, the City will host a series of staff events celebrating Public Works and Engineering staff, including a flag raising, Bus Pull, Truck Rodeo, school tours, a fundraising barbecue for the United Way of Greater Toronto and more staff recognition events. Wellington Street West (Main Street South to Park Hill Court) in downtown Brampton will be closed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 20 for the bus pull event. Traffic will be diverted to alternative routes. In addition to these events, City staff will collect and donate food in support of Knights Table. To learn more, visit brampton.ca/NPWW.
