August 4, 2026

HARRISBURG - Rep. Lee James (R-Venango/Crawford) announced the Pennsylvania Department if Transportation (PennDOT) has an updated schedule for a project to install new pavement markings on section of Interstate 80 in Venango County and Interstate 79 in Crawford County.

According to James, crews will install recessed polymer centerline markings on Interstate 79 northbound and southbound in Crawford County from mile marker 141 to mile marker 157 between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Aug. 12-14. In addition, black contrast markings will be implemented on Interstate 80 eastbound and westbound in Venango County from mile marker 27 to mile marker 46 between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Aug. 17-19.

All work is weather permitting. James is asking motorists to plan accordingly as nighttime lane restrictions are expected.

"As crews work throughout the evening, please slow down and drive safely to keep workers and travelers safe," said James. "By remaining alert and avoiding distractions, we can drive responsibly and avoid the worst possible outcomes."
