ADACities Call for Expression of Interest: deadline extended

On 15 September, the European Commission held an online Information Session on the ADACities Call for Expression of Interest (CEoI). It gave stakeholders the chance to ask questions and receive clarifications on the initiative and the call.

The session drew 84 participants from across the autonomous-mobility ecosystem: public authorities, automotive manufacturers, suppliers and technology companies, mobility operators, autonomous-driving and AI start-ups, research networks and associations, consultancies and infrastructure and testing organisations.

Main discussion points included the role of cities and other public authorities, EU-centricity, the scope of eligible vehicles and use cases, financing, and links with the Horizon Europe bridging action and cross-border testbeds. The discussion showed a clear demand for further clarification and for practical support in building consortia. To help stakeholders find partners, the Commission will launch an EU Survey [link will be available here on 29 September]. Individual organisations and those not yet part of a consortium, can use it to present their ideas, expertise, capabilities, location and potential contribution and to say what kind of partners or consortium opportunities they are looking for. Further matchmaking and consortium-building support, including workshops, will be provided through the ADACities Secretariat. Confidentiality and data-protection requirements will be respected throughout.

Building ADACities together

The Commission reiterated that ADACities is meant to be built together with its constituency. The CEoI both identifies mature deployment ambitions and lets stakeholders flag the barriers and needs the initiative should address as it develops.

Stakeholders should read the ADACities Scoping Paper together with the CEoI when preparing their submissions.
