Delayed: Three bridges in Holt, Atchison counties scheduled for deck replacements

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The deck replacement project on the Mill Creek Bridge on Holt County Route T has been delayed due to contractor scheduling. The project was scheduled to begin on Monday, April 7, but has been delayed until Tuesday, May 27.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. to replace the decks of two bridges in Holt County and one in Atchison County.

Traffic Impacts: During construction, Route T will be closed at the Mill Creek Bridge. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route. The Mill Creek Bridge is expected to reopen by mid-July 2025.

Once construction is complete, crews will begin work on the U.S. Route 59 Bridge over Interstate 29 in Holt County then the Rock Creek Bridge on Atchison County Route F. All work is expected to be completed by September 2025.
