Statement on East-West rail corridor flood impact – network update

The Australian Rail Track Corporation has reopened the East West rail corridor following the completion of restoration works after Sunday's track washaways at Bookaloo and McLeay near Port Augusta.

Crews worked around the clock to repair affected sections of track, enabling services to safely resume.

With further rainfall forecast across parts of South Australia from today through to Monday, ARTC has pre-positioned additional crews, contractors, machinery and materials at key locations between Adelaide and Cook in South Australia to enable a rapid response if required.

ARTC will continue monitoring weather conditions and will respond in accordance with our extreme weather policy, prioritising the safety and integrity of the network.

ARTC is continuing to communicate with customers and all impacted stakeholders.
