House Republicans Select Leadership Team

House Republicans re-elect Rep. Billy Bob Faulkingham to be their Leader and elect Rep. Katrina Smith as Assistant

AUGUSTA - The Maine House Republican caucus re-elected Rep. Billy Bob Faulkingham (R-Winter Harbor) to serve as their Leader today in Augusta. Rep. Katrina Smith (R-Palermo) was elected Assistant Republican Leader.

Rep. Faulkingham's re-election comes after Maine House Republicans gained at least 5 seats, with several pending recounts.

"The desire for positive change was evident in this year's election," said House Republican Leader Faulkingham. "We came within 100 votes of taking control of the Maine House on election night.

We are determined to lower energy costs and address a $1 billion budget deficit brought on by years of over spending. The needs of everyday Mainers are being ignored. If Democrats don't give us a seat at the table, we will continue to speak loudly for the people of Maine."

"House Republicans are ready to get down to work to help those who are financially struggling and are losing hope," said newly elected Assistant Leader Katrina Smith. "We are ready to stand strong and united to be the voice of positive change in our state."
