The Zoning Code is being comprehensively updated for the first time since the 1960s. The purpose of the update is modernize the code and implement the City's vision, which includes:

  • Preserving and improving existing neighborhoods
  • Fostering responsible and sustainable growth
  • Promoting health through walkable districts
  • Buffering residential from industrial uses
  • Streamlining business investment

The Open House Workshop Series builds on input received during two prior rounds of stakeholder engagement. At the September open houses, the City will share a draft zoning map and accompanying land use tables along with draft standards.

Six in-person open house workshops and a virtual workshop are intended to create multiple opportunities to be involved. The City will present the same information at each open house and you are welcome to drop in at any time during the times indicated above. The virtual option provides the same experience for those unable to attend in person and will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.

Spanish interpreters will be available at all workshops. Vietnamese and Khmer interpretation is available by request by contacting Siri Champion ([email protected]) up to 72 hours in advance.
