The Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Region Development, together with the German Development Bank (KfW), the company Vodacom, and the municipalities of Kotor and Tivat, has signed agreements on the allocation of grant funds from the Joint European Fund for the Western Balkans. Through these agreements, the Municipality of Tivat has been provided with €9.5 million, while €3.9 million has been allocated to the Municipality of Kotor for a project aimed at improving water supply and sewerage infrastructure.
The agreement was signed by the line minister Damjan Ćulafić; representing KfW, Stephan Raabe, Chief Portfolio Manager, and Dirk Vallerian, Senior Engineer; Vodacom Director Dragan Roganović; as well as the President of the Municipality of Kotor, Vladimir Jokić, and the President of the Municipality of Tivat, Željko Komnenović.
The project "Water Supply and Wastewater Management on the Adriatic Coast - Phase V, Component 2" represents a significant infrastructure investment financed through a combination of loan funds and non-repayable grants.
On this occasion, Minister Ćulafić stated that the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Region Development is continuously working to improve water supply and sewerage infrastructure across Montenegro.
"Our goal is to ensure a stable and high-quality water supply system and efficient wastewater management, in line with European standards, as a country that is charting its path towards the EU," the Minister said.
